THE LIVE FOOD DIET PROGRAM

My observation with thousands of people over the last six
years is that a diet consisting heavily of the following is the most
effective in delivering needed nutrition to the body:

--- fresh raw fruits and vegetables along with soaked/sprouted
grains, seeds, beans and nuts.

---large volumes of uncontaminated water every day (at least two
quarts for the lightest adults and a gallon for the folks twice that size);

---a raw, organic whole food powder concentrate consisting of ingredients
from at least a dozen different plant sources and consumed in large
amounts daily;

---daily supplementation with an EFA (Essential Fatty Acids) blend, including
Flax Oil, Borage Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Sesame Oil, Sunflower Oil, and
ingestion of a truly raw Olive Oil.

The four points above, as well as the rest of this article, are just
thick brush strokes. Each should be finely honed in the course of research
and application by the individual.

In the last three decades, better than a dozen best selling titles
have been purchased and used by the public as nutritional guides. None have
proven to be "the way" over the long haul for everyone to use in achieving
optimum health and freedom from disease. Most are quite negative in effect
if earnestly used to help heal someone of an injury or disease. Variations of
the " Wackins' New Beverly Zone Diet", if you will. A few (though not quite as
popular), are genuinely helpful, such as the works of Marilyn & Harvey
Diamond, Gary Null and Jack Tips.

Some will say that such a publication on diet can never be
written because nutritional changes and exercise simply will not work on
everyone. It's much more complicated than that. Besides, if eating lots of
"bunny food" all the time leaves you feeling hungry, or just doesn't seem
attractive to you, its probably because you are genetically prone for the way
you have been eating all your life. And so it goes - one opinion versus
the next opinion. Yet,some of us still want to know the answers to such
questions as: Do my food choices really make a difference in my health
condition and likelihood of getting sick? And if so, what food choices will
surely improve my health and help to heal me of diseases, should I have
some? What foods definitely cause my health to decline and worsen my
state of illness?

Down through history, natural healers would effectively use
nutrition as a means to help people with their health and sickness. In
the 19th Century, Kellogg and Thompson each healed thousands of people
and neither one relied on refined sugar, flours, processed food, heavily
cooked food, meat, dairy or poultry in their treatments. This past century,
more well known names such as Hoxsey, John Christopher, Bernard Jensen,
Max Gerson, Norman Walker, Henry Bieler and Joel Robbins, to name a few,
all helped heal tens thousands of people with natural means and none saw
success using predominantly refined foods, processed foods, entirely cooked
foods, meat, dairy or poultry. Many did use fresh squeezed juices in their
cures and all relied heavily on the consumption of fresh, raw fruits,
vegetables, seeds, nuts, grains and beans by their patients. As matter of fact,
I've never even heard a rumor of a natural healer who attempted to cure
others using barbecue short ribs, donuts, french fries, hamburgers, pizza,
bean burritos, spaghetti, cheese, coffee, and soft drinks. Yet, some or all
of these types of food are regularly eaten by nearly all of us on a regular
basis, and fed to our children at their insistence. The natural consequence
is premature death for nearly all by around the age of 75. What's worse is
the dreadful state of health experienced for many years prior to this
untimely end.

OK, so the Standard American Diet is one I should modify. What's
the alternative and how is the change made considering that I not thrilled by
the prospect of carrot juice and raw broccoli flower buds.

Practically all folks in the westernized societies are thoroughly
attached to cooked and processed/refined foods so this is not a very easy
lifestyle change to make. Some form of gradient step program must be
utilized in order to discover the value of raw food for one's self and its
superior benefits.

If your diet is basically the same over the last six months to a
year and it is enjoyable to you, then this diet can be thought to be within
your zone of comfort. Let us first take an extreme case that is not at all
uncommon. This person eats cooked food, processed food, refined sugars
and flours, snack food, candy, soft drinks, coffee, meat, dairy and poultry
all the time. Raw food is usually only eaten if incidentally on top of the
hamburger or mixed in with the ice cream.Let's assume they want to change.
This is not likely but it does sometimes happen. The best way to succeed here
is to present raw foods that are naturally oily or sweet. These foods are best
tolerated by such a person as long as they are added to what they are already
eating, not taking the place of items they prefer. If the person has a sweet
tooth, deserts are the easiest way to introduce raw food. There are many raw
food recipes for deserts which are just as sweet and delicious as deserts made
from cooked, processed and refined food ingredients. Raw food pates, salads
and other items will have the best chance of success if you add a little extra
oil or nut butters to them. Once you have found a number of raw food recipes
that are enjoyable, you can use these to gradually replace some of the least
favorite cooked/processed food items in the diet. Needless to say, this is a
long process taking many months - usually a year or two - before such a
person has been happily converted over to a large amount of raw food in
their diet.

The next case is probably more similar to you, the reader.
Salads are regularly eaten. Maybe some home made juices are consumed.
Whole fruit is a part the picture and you enjoy cooked grains and beans.
You avoid candy, cakes, snack foods, soft drinks, refined sugar and fast food
restaurants, as a rule. You're not a heavy meat eater and you do eat cheese
and eggs. Here we can talk about moving outside the comfort zone a small
ways and get into some replacement foods right off the bat. Start out by
eating less meat, cheese and eggs. Instead of eating one or all every day,
cut it down to three times a week. You can replace these fattier items with
recipes using nut butters. Soaked/sprouted grains and beans can be
explored and incorporated into the diet as you find recipes that use them
which are pleasing to the palate.

A useful tip here is to estimate the ratio of other foods usually
eaten to raw foods. This ratio is done in terms of weight rather than volume
or size. This ratio can now be considered to be within one's comfort zone.
For instance, your average ratio may be 70% other food to 30% raw foods.
To see improvement in your digestion, energy level, feeling of well being,
Acid/Alkaline Balance, etc., you would need to increase the ratio of other
foods to raw from 70/30 to 50/50 or even 40 % other foods to 60% raw.
This could take a few months to accomplish by some, but they would see
gradual gains each week along the way. Then you can move along to increase
the ratio to 20% other to 80% raw foods or even 10/90. At this point your are
close in on going fully raw without it being too drastic a change.

When a health crisis is in the picture, one would need to move
quickly to a 15/85 ratio of cooked veggies, grains & beans to raw foods in
order to see the body respond to the nutritional benefits faster than the rate
of deterioration from the illness. No processed foods, refined foods, dairy or
anything but the lightest amounts of meat should be consumed.

Trying to make these improvements in ratio from other foods to
rawfoods requires more than a discipline to eat whole fruits and salads as
your raw portions. You will have to become educated in the preparation of
raw food recipes that are just as interesting and satisfying to eat as the
"other foods". Acquiring a lot of recipes that you thoroughly enjoy eating
will be crucial in your efforts to incorporate raw food as the mainstay of
your diet. To this end, we have included in this article web sites you can
go to for recipes and other valuable information, and books which will also
help you tremendously in your desire to create a live food diet.

The following materials on our site will help you transition
into the realm of largely raw foods,

A tremendous boost in one's efforts to include more live
food in the diet is to use an organic concentration of whole food called
Vital Nutrition Plus. Consuming at least 4 heaping tablespoons of this
supplement every day (or 32 capsules), ensures you are getting adequate
protein and other nutrients, such as vitamin B-12. For more details about
this terrific nutritional resource, click on the following links -

A major stumbling block to converting one's diet to
include a major percentage of raw food each day is to have
the know-how in making meals which are as enjoyable and filling as
cooked food. Great recipes for raw food dishes are available from those
who have been eating only raw food for years. One can turn to "uncook"
books on how to prepare raw food meals. Those who make a point to eat
well rounded raw food meals for an entire day, or several weeks, will
discover they can be as fully satisfying, and there is an absence of that
stuffed, low energy feeling so common after eating cooked or processed
food.

If you are interested in going totally raw, the crucial task
is to find out how to make delicious raw food meals, and collect several
dozen recipes that fit this bill for you and your family. This is vital in
order to make the full changeover. The usual period of time it takes to
make this transition is 90 straight days. If you can line things up to stay
on a strict raw food regimen for 90 consecutive days, you will find it is
now more real to continue to eat raw, rather than cooked/processed food.
Incidently, the old favorite cooked food meals make you feel somewhat
(or a lot), sickened within hours afterward. A sideways proof of the more
healthful value of raw foods.

Every single person we have heard from who has
transitioned majorly toward a raw food/juicing plan as above for ten
consecutive days or more - including drinking lots of water and using
Vital Nutrition Plus every day - has seen their energy levels go up, their
digestive systems function better and their feeling of well being improve
(not to mention some miraculous benefits in terms of illnesses).

This is all just a matter of simple cause and effect, folks.
When an effective cause is applied in the correct way, the expected
desirable effects will always occur. Try it, and then you will know it to be
true for you, as well.

We very much enjoy seeing this happen for so many around
the world who have given it a go.
